Rabbi Shaun grew up in Pretoria where he obtained a Bsc in Electronic Engineering. He spent many years at the Yeshivah Gedolah where he received Semichah. He worked for many years in IT but always had a hand in communal projects in line with his real passion. With a creative eye for looking out on how to improve the lives of those sometimes overlooked members of our community, he founded Shiur On Sallys Alley and later S.O.S. for the Aged.(S.O.S.A.). Faced with numerous challenges over the many years his ongoing determination has enabled SOSA to assist many. He sees the formation of SOSA Medical Project in partnership with R’ Hoppenstein, as a natural outgrowth of SOSA. Valuing the importance of remaining Independent he has upheld this as a high priority for the organisation.
